mlk mulitfaith day of service
Monday, January 19, 2026
This year, Peninsula Temple Sholom is honored to serve as a host site for the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition’s MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 19, 2026. This annual gathering brings together volunteers from across many faith communities to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through meaningful, hands-on acts of service.

For many families in our community, this day has been a joyful tradition for years. It is a chance to practice tikkun olam, form new friendships, and work alongside neighbors of all backgrounds. Now, for the first time, we are bringing this tradition home to PTS.
PTS will open at 8:00 AM with a warm community breakfast, followed by several volunteer projects suitable for all ages. Activities may include assembling toiletry kits for shelters, creating cards for seniors, preparing food kits for those facing food insecurity, and other opportunities that support people across our region.
To make this day successful, we welcome volunteers who want to participate in a project, bring family and friends, donate supplies, help with breakfast, or step forward to lead one of the service activities. We are seeking a small group of project leaders who will help shape and guide what happens at PTS that morning, with full support from our staff and our partners at the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition.
Sign-up information and project details will be shared soon. For now, please save the date and look forward to a morning of connection, purpose, and community.
Thank you for helping make our first year as a host site an inspiring one.
