Literally meaning “head of the month,” Rosh Chodesh has PTS teens enjoy monthly dinner together while discussing topics relevant to their coming of age as Jewish teenagers. Cohorts are gender and grade-specific, and designed for individuals to bond over their inherent similarities and differences. Rosh Chodesh groups meet one evening per month. Apply here for Rosh Chodesh for the 2025-2026 school year.
Madrichimot, our teacher’s assistants, are a crucial part of our Youth Education program. Participants are placed in a K-7th grade classroom to plan activities, assist with lessons, and act as role models for the younger students. Madrichimot will receive special training on classroom management, leadership, teamwork, and CPR certification. Stay connected and give back to the PTS community; apply here to join the 2025-2026 Madrichimot.
PARTY–Peninsula Area Reform Temple Youth–create activities for teens at PTS and in the greater Bay Area Jewish community. This student-led group hosts about one event per month, ranging from game nights, to latke cooking, to full blown dance parties. All PTS teens are welcome at PARTY events! If you’re interested in planning these monthly programs, join the PARTY Board. Board members meet on Zoom bimonthly to design upcoming programming. Board members also have the chance to apply for a $1000 academic scholarship through PTS. Apply here for the 2025-2026 PARTY Board.
8th/9th Grade Social Justice Trip
Learn about a new area’s Jewish culture and serve their local community on the 8th/9th Grade Social Justice Trip. These trips combine community service, educational programming, tourism, and interactions with local teens. Participants will be asked to join a pre-learning session to better prepare them for the content of the trip. Stay tuned for more info on the 2026 trip. Read about last year’s trip to Los Angeles.
NFTY West Coast Party
Gather with reform Jewish teenagers from across the West Coast for a four-day, teen-led experience at Camp Newman. Celebrate Shabbat, hang out with old friends and make new ones, and live it up at "Big Fun" events like a silent disco, Bet Mitzvah party, and more. Registration coming soon.
L'Taken (10th-12th Grade)
Spend a weekend with hundreds of other teens from across the country learning about public policy issues and advocacy. Participants attend sessions on different advocacy topics and have a lively evening preparing a speech for their elected officials. The next day everyone travels to Capitol Hill, where students visit the offices of their own Senators and Representatives in Congress to present their speeches. In our free time, we’ll explore DC museums and monuments. More information here.
