living with covid - CHOICE & RESPECT

Kol Yisrael areivim zeh bazeh – All of Israel are responsible for one another

Update March 20, 2023

Our deep respect for one another continues to inform decisions of our COVID Task Force. PTS is shifting from a mandate-based policy to an environment in which everyone makes choices that are comfortable for them and respects the different choices made by others.

  • When you come to campus you are free to wear a mask, maintain distance, and refrain from shaking hands and hugging. Or, you may choose the opposite.
  • Vaccinations are no longer required, although we strongly encourage everyone to be vaccinated and up to date on their boosters.
  • The main requirement that continues is that individuals who are sick and/or who have COVID stay home. (See CDC’s guidance on vaccinations and COVID quarantine.)
  • In certain limited circumstances, home testing may be required, such as for b’nai mitzvah families on the bimah.

COVID taught us to be flexible, to forgive easily, and to appreciate small moments of togetherness. We’ve learned that connection can take many forms. PTS will continue to offer programming and worship experiences remotely and in person, so that, as our vision says, each member of our community “can find their own connection to Judaism.”
