Charlie kramer: musician in residence

May 20-22, 2022

Shabbat

6:30 PM Friday, May 20th in the Sanctuary

Join us for a special service featuring the inspirational melodies of musician in residence, Charlie Kramer! Hear his sermon on our sacred Jewish texts and understand the lessons we can glean from the Torah in shaping our lives today.

Torah Today

9:00 - 10:00 AM Saturday, May 21st in the Lillian Byer Social Hall

During this learning session through song Charlie Kramer will share his story of being diagnosed with a progressive visual disability at the age of 5, explore the concept of ableism, and offer tools to be an inclusive ally.

Tots and Torah and Charlie

10:30 - 11:30 AM Saturday, May 21st in the Parking Lot

A special outdoor service designed for our smallest PTS folks! This young family service with Charlie Kramer will of course include his beautiful music but also movement and plenty of time for joyous gathering amongst our youngest PTS families.

Havdalah: Singing in the Dark

5:30 - 6:30 PM Saturday, May 21st in the Lillian Byer Social Hall

During this one-hour workshop, Charlie will lead us in a transformative experience unlike anything before. By muting our sense of sight, the visual realm will fade into the background as we sing together and open ourselves to the world within our bodies and souls. The Singing in the Dark immersion will unlock our true power, taking participants on a journey inward and helping them discover their potential and greatness.

Youth Education

9:30 - 11:30 AM Sunday, May 22nd in the Parking Lot

Charlie Kramer will add a musical end to our last day of Youth Education before sending the kids off to summer.

This weekend is made possible thanks to the Myrna Jacobs Music Fund.
