We aim to create a safe space that provides learners with the tools necessary to live Jewishly into adulthood. Our curriculum is focused on Jewish values, ritual, lifecycle, texts, history, Israel, and character development.

PRE-K
Holiday Celebrations
Celebrate Jewish holidays together through hands-on activities, crafts and cooking. Taught by Allison Steckley, Director of Early Childhood Education. Meets monthly from September-May.

Young Learners
We begin to build a foundation for Jewish learning through a storybook curriculum in our kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classes. Each grade will focus on a big question and use stories to learn about Jewish holidays and Jewish life.
Kindergarten
Torah Stories
Torah Stories In Addition To Learning About Holiday Celebrations And The Themes Of Each Holiday, Kindergartners Learn The Stories In Genesis, The First Book Of The Torah. They Are Introduced To Important Jewish Figures Such As Adam And Eve, Noah, Rebecca, Abraham, Jacob And Esau, Joseph, And Esther.

1ST GRADE
Jewish Values
In the 1st-grade class, our students will learn about Jewish values connected to each holiday and an action to live out each value. They read stories connected to respecting one another, kindness, empathy, caring for animals, friendship, and mitzvot (commandments).

2nd Grade
Israeli Culture
The 2nd-grade program gives the students a hands-on opportunity for learning about Israel and an introduction to the Hebrew Aleph Bet. After a story is read, the students have the opportunity for diving deeper in the topic with time for discussion and an activity that is kept in a keepsake book.

3rd Grade
Torah, Prophets & Writings
3rd grade learning extends beyond the book of Genesis, finding relevance for today in the stories of Exodus, Ruth, David, Solomon and Jonah. These leaders and biblical moments are foundations for the Jewish people.

4th Grade
Ethics & Pirkei Avot
4th graders learn about Jewish law and ethics, drawing from ancient Jewish texts like the Talmud and Pirkei Avot. We delve into specific issues: animal ethics, business ethics, food ethics, and environmental ethics. We aim to become familiar with important Jewish terms and historical figures.

5th Grade
Lifecycle, Ritual & Mitzvot
Judaism honors sacred time and transitions, such as Shabbat and marriage customs. Finding meaning in Mitzvot (fulfilling commandments) for life today.

*Hebrew Groups
3rd-4th-5th-6th grade students meet in small weekday groups to learn the Aleph Bet (sounds and symbols) and prayers.
6th Grade
Ancient Israel & Jewish Identity
6th graders start thinking deeply about their Jewish identities as they enter early adulthood. We give our students a background in Jewish history and compare with our lives today. In the fall, we plan a morning of learning and bonding for our 6th grade families during Bet Mitzvah Orientation.

Modern Israel & Holocaust
7th graders learn about recent Jewish history including Zionism, the Holocaust, and modern Israel. As our students think about their Jewish futures, they consider the generations that came before.

T’Filah
Worship
Each session includes a short interactive worship service lead by our clergy and a song leader. Younger students are introduced to Hebrew words, the meaning of prayers, and how to pray. Older students approaching bet mitzvah age are given the opportunity to lead and prepare for adult services. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to attend with their children.
Kef Enrichment
PreK, K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Grades
Kef means “fun” and we offer weekly special classes which alternate between Cooking, Art Specialists, Music Specialists, Rabbi time or Cantor time.
Chugim Electives
4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grades
In addition to weekly classes, we offer a choice of electives taught by our teachers and teen madrichimot (teaching assistants), which take place approximately once a month and range from Art, Cooking, Dance, Jewelry making, Jewish gaming, Yearbook/Photography, or Sports.
