LGBTQ+ students face bullying and harassment at disturbingly high levels. Yet, no federal law requires local education agencies to create policies that protect students from bullying and identity-based harassment.

The Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC) is supporting the Safe Schools Improvement Act, which would strengthen bullying prevention measures, shore up state standards on identity-based harassment, and improve adoption of evidence-based best practices, all while giving school districts local flexibility.
