After almost 30 years of being part of the Peninsula Temple Sholom (PTS) Preschool, I can say without hesitation that the launch of our new K’tanim (Little Ones) Infant/Toddler Program marks one of the most inspiring and transformative moments in our school’s journey. What began in 1982 with just one small classroom has grown into a thriving Early Childhood Education center — and now, with the addition of this new program, we are opening our doors wider than ever before.

This new beginning will bring the joyful sounds of infants and toddlers into our school, completing our vision of a fully inclusive early childhood program that nurtures children from as young as 6 months through age 5. With 11 vibrant classrooms, our play-based approach will continue to support the developmental needs of each child in a warm, welcoming Jewish environment centered around love, kindness, curiosity, and community.

The Infant/Toddler Program is more than just an expansion; it is a response to the real and pressing needs of our families and our broader community. We know that families today are seeking not just care, but connection — a place where their children will be known, loved, and supported in every aspect of their growth. Our program is designed to do just that, offering a nurturing space rooted in Jewish values where families can grow alongside their children.

We are especially proud to offer this program at a time when families are looking for meaningful connections, experiences and trusted care. Our team has worked diligently to design classrooms that are developmentally appropriate, safe, and filled with opportunities for exploration and wonder. With dedicated, well-trained educators and a commitment to ongoing professional development, we are laying the foundation for a strong and sustainable future.

This is more than just a program — it is a new beginning for our school, our families, and the generations to come. We look forward to welcoming our youngest learners and partnering with their families as they begin their journey in our community. Together, we are building something truly special — a home for belonging, learning and connection from the very start.
