First Day of School Information

A CHANGE OF CLOTHES

On the first day of school, we request that every child has an adequate supply of extra clothing, large enough to fit your child for the entire year, stored in a ziplock bag and left in your child's cuuby.
Please label both sides of the zip lock bag in large letters, and be sure to label the clothes so they don't get lost.  You can order labels here: www.oliverslabels.com/ptspreschool

​Remember to replace these items as they are used. Please include the following items:

  • 2 pairs of socks
  • 2 pairs of underwear
  • 1 pair of long pants
  • 1 pair of short pants
  • 1 long-sleeved shirt
  • 1 short-sleeved shirt

EMERGENCY SUPPLIES

Each child must provide supplies in case of emergency evacuation.

TWO-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN IN DIAPERS

We ask that you bring:

  • 2 large-size boxes of disposable diapers (we will let you know if we need more!)
  • 2 large boxes of gallon-size, ziplock disposable bags
  • 4 containers of moisturized baby wipes.


PLEASE BRING SUPPLIES TO THE PRESCHOOL OFFICE

NUT-FREE LUNCHES
​Children need to bring a healthy lunch each day. Please make sure that you provide a balanced nutritious lunch in a properly insulated lunch bag or lunch box. 
  • We are a completely nut free school. An allowable substitute to peanut butter is SunButter.
  • Please make sure all containers are tightly sealed to avoid leakage.
  • Lunch boxes, thermoses and plastic food containers need to be labeled.
  • Be sure to include a drink, straw and napkin and a cold pack, as lunches cannot be refrigerated.
  • The staff must discard all partially eaten food or perishable foods for health reasons.
  • Lunches should be sent to school ready to be eaten (oranges, eggs, apples, etc. should be
  • peeled or sliced at home).  Please note that we are not able to heat up lunches.
  • 2YR OLDS: As a precautionary measure, please slice grapes in half and hot dogs lengthwise, as these foods can block the windpipe and cause choking.

PERSONALIZING
YOUR CUBBY

Our preschool families traditionally decorate the students cubbies with a few family photos.
​Please bring in copies of your favorite photos on meet my Teacher Day.
You and your child will tape the pictures in their cubby together.  This will also help your child to identify his/her cubby. Be sure to write your family name on the back of the picture. You may remove your picture on the last day of school.

ENTERING AND EXITING
​THE SCHOOL

You and your child(ren) will be greeted at the preschool entrance each morning at your assigned time. After signing your child in using Remini, please bring them to their classroom to start their day.  Please help ensure that children arrive ready for their day - having used the rest room or in a clean diaper with their belongings stored in their cubby.


All children not signed up for the afternoon extended program must leave the school at 1pm. We need to enforce this rule for the safety and proper supervision of extended program children.

SIGN IN/OUT REGULATIONS

Sign in and sign out will be done by parents and designated grownups through the Remini app using the QR code at the school or the iPad at the front desk.  Please call the office if you need help getting into the system.  If your child will be out, please let us know by sending a message through Remini or calling the office.

NAPS

Children staying after school and scheduled to nap will transition to their nap room and will be ready to rest by 12:45/ 1pm.  ​They will be provided with a cot.
  • Please bring your labeled Nap Mat and a favorite stuffed animal (if appropriate) that can be left at the school.  Please alert us if your child needs to change from underwear to diaper/pull-up, and provide those as well. 
  • ​Please make sure that the bedding is taken home at the end of each week to be washed.
  • For your convenience - some popular brands available on Amazon are: ROLLEE POLLEE, OZARK MOUNTAIN KIDS, WILDKINS, and URBAN INFANT.  
BIKE AND SCOOTER DAY

Bring your bikes, scooters, and helmets!  If your child's class is participating, their teacher will inform you of the dates.
