Our Philosophy & Goals
Peninsula Temple Sholom Preschool is a gift you give your children that lasts a lifetime. Joining our preschool family connects you to a very special community.
Our Preschool focuses on the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of each child in a stimulating, creative, warm, and loving Jewish environment, where children learn through play to become independent and self-reliant. We help them build self-esteem and inspire their creativity and imagination. Language development as well as gross and fine motor skills are emphasized. Experiences are provided to encourage growth in the following areas:
- Fine and Gross Motor Coordination
- Sensory integration
- Cognitive and adaptive skills
- Social Emotional Development
- Language Development
- Moral Growth and Development
The children learn about and celebrate Jewish holidays, values, and customs. Shabbat and Havdalah are celebrated together weekly as a school, and we warmly invite family members to attend.
Within the classroom environment we cultivate a positive sense of identity for the children and within the greater community. Cultural diversity is promoted and respected as children and families share their traditions from around the globe.
Continuing Education
Having ongoing education for our staff is a priority for PTS Preschool. We bring in speakers during the year and send our staff out to learn as well. Our Assistant Director, Leslie, was recently part of a 17 day seminar to Israel where she learned about how preschool educators are taught as well as experienced how several different preschools operate. The trip was sponsored by Early J, Oranim College and PTS. Here is a sneak peek of some of the highlights. Please click on the image below to view the video.
